Everyday, I found that there are many new blogs created. Here are a few hints you must know before you attempt to try your hand at blogging and even after.

• Ascertain a purpose for the blog.
• Understand as to how you can build a plan for your blog.
• Choose a niche that you are interest in. (Credit to Charles)
• Investigate the advantages and disadvantages of your blog design.
• Think out ways to write interesting articles and also articles that attract some attention.
• Build on your very own blog writing style as also voice.
• Add images to make your posts more interesting. (Credit to George)
• Give hints on how to write with emphasis on keywords as also search terms.
• Try and get your readers to reply.
• Deal seriously with spam comments and other malicious comments.
• Delve into the new techniques like TrustRank, PageRank and also SEO.
• Use video, podcasts and other multimedia tools to improve SEO.
• Give hints to avoid blog burnout.
• Set guidelines to develop a plan of action for the blog to respond to emergencies, disasters or even accusations.
• Set up pointers to administer and maintain your blog.
• Have your set of guidelines on interaction in online social networking situations.
• Be prepared to handle any copyright violations.
• Get you know the rights you have as a blogger.

1. Initiate your own WordPress blog.
2. Keep adding content and updating frequently.
3. Use targeted keywords in post title and content.
4. Administer RSS feeds.
5. Use every opportunity to promote the blog.

Now, go to blog monetization. Presently Google AdSense seems to be the best choice available for most publishers. Generating income from AdSense is no cakewalk. Here are some practical tips to develop your earnings using AdSense.

erm about ur new theme .. GOOD but the background take times to load .. try to split the images into small size n use repeat function.

Nice points. I would also add that you must have multiple streams of income. Although Google is great, you need to spread your income across many affiliate programs to increase it.

You could also mention that adding images into your posts. Images speak a thousand words :)

i change to google adsense d cos Bidvertiser earning quite slow..do u have any other idea how to imcrease earning..i did try all your method d..but still the same

Nice post Jacob. I prefer only image Ads on my blog rather than text links. I believe they blend better with the post and it seems as if it were private advertising and not Adsense.

@DavidLee: Erm, I think traffic flow is important. You can also test different ad placement to get higher CTR. Anyway I’m still new to the blogosphere, and this really needs a good “knowledge and experience”. We have to put more “hard work” into it :wink:

I had no knowledge about PR and making money when I started blogging. Then when I received an email from google about my earnings, I started doing research about SEO and PR. I’ve learned a little about them but still not enough. I haven’t earned bucks from affiliates but paid posts has given me a mean stream of income.

The main important thing is you have to know the main objective why you’re blogging.

Yeah, you have to learn SEO and some skills if you want to success in Adsense. If you can do it, there’s a big potential that you’ll gain a great success from Adsense =)

@Ken: Adsense is for everyone. Liewcf and Hongkiat are Malaysia top blogger, and they are using Adsense. The CPC is depends on visitors that the advertiser want to target.
