Surfing the internet guarantees that you will see plenty of affiliate links, which are created to promote products. They turn up alongside search results, or even on social networking sites. But do people actually buy products from others affiliate links?
The simple answer to that would be that they do indeed buy products this way. Many products are being sold because of effective advertising on sites. An affiliate link, once clicked on, takes the viewer to a page that promotes the product, and this is where the buyer is convinced to buy the product.
If the product is promoted by someone who is speaking with authority on the product, the chances are the product will get sold. For example, people are more likely to buy golf equipment from an affiliate link where the promoter is a semi-professional golfer who has competed in tournaments rather than from someone who says he is simply passionate about golf.
Another important factor that convinces people to buy from others affiliate links is the content of the website. Reviews of the product are always helpful, and providing useful information and tips about the product for the target market will no doubt keep people buying from affiliate links. Hereby, my review of Thesis theme is an example.
However, you should aware that some are reluctant to buy products from affiliate links. Yes, I mean “some”. These people are probably bloggers, webmasters or internet marketers. Well, this is just like most bloggers won’t click on your ads
. Tell me what you think. Do you buy products using others affiliate links?

I knew it Roseli. Haha cos we both bought Thesis using George’s aff. link.
It depends, sometime I buy from my own affiliate link and other times I buy from others. It depends what the product is.

. Glad to hear your thoughts here.
How can you buy from your affiliate links?! I mean, is it legit ?! Do you buy from your clickbank affiliate links?
Benjamin Cip´s last blog ..How To Get Targeted Traffic
Hi Ben, sometimes the tracking system will count the transaction as a aff. sale. But, I’m not sure this on Clickbank, and whether it is legit.
I’ve never bought something from an affiliate link. But never say never

Haha, maybe you’ll buy something from me in future
I often buy stuff from affiliate links, depending if the product is necessary for me. I tend to prefer premium plugins or premium wordpress theme over ebook or ecourse videos. I mean I already learnt everything I need to know, so I just need to improve my blog and that’s all. I want my blog to be user-friendly, and make people want to visit it everydays… any suggestion?
Benjamin Cip´s last blog ..How To Get Targeted Traffic
I think you’re right, Ben. I would probably invest on premium tools and theme rather than ebooks. Btw your blog is user friendly enough, with easy navigation. Hmm u mean traffic? I’m not very good in this, but I think you should enhance SEO on your posts, in order to get more organic traffic.
I generally prefer to buy branded products from affiliate links…It totally depends on products. Affiliate market is surely going to grow.

Frankly, I would say Thesis theme has more features and is easier to customized than ultimate blogging theme. You can read my Thesis review here. Hope that’s helpful to you
Over the years I have bought tons of stuff through affiliate links. I have no problem at all letting someone earn a commission if they recommended a product to me. I probably never would have heard about it otherwise… so they deserve the referral fee. I definitely would not skip the affiliate and go directly to the merchant, as all you are doing is making the merchant more money… and the affiliate deserves their share.
Now if I find a product on my own, and if I am allowed to… I will try and purchase it through my own affiliate link, but most sites don’t allow that.

Hi Doug, you’re so right, they deserve their share. That’s why I do appreciate and always buy products using their affiliate links. However I noticed there are very “few” of people (voted most by Malaysians) do not buy things through affiliate links, from a poll at my friend’s blog.
You can try to buy from own affiliate links using another new account. I did that 2 times before.
The person who promote the product works very hard to sell the product. I think we should buy from affiliate links =).

But not everyone think like that.
I’ll tell you what I do not do – I do not, not, click on a link because it’s an affiliate link
If there’s a product I want, then I’ll just buy it through who ever seems to be “there” when I need it. Sure, sometimes I happen to find a product through a site that I simply do not want to promote for whatever reason (but not just because it’s an affiliate link), and then I go straight to the product site instead.
Maybe many internet users still are not comfortable buying through affiliate links because they think it might cost them more or the site that referred you, woudl get your details when you purchase. I don’t know.
But let’s get some affiliate business going so we can rake’em in, those precious dollars

Klaus @ TechPatio´s last blog ..Caroline Wozniacki Breasts
Hey Klaus, thanks for taking your time for telling me these. However, I think most internet users nowadays understand what is a affiliate link. Probably they feel unsafe to buy from non-familiar site.
Hey Jacob
I have to admit I have bought some stuff with affiliate links. Mostly before I started blogging. Now that I have started blogging I pay more attention to the website that I would buy from with an affiliate link. Much like you said If I was looking for golf stuff sure I would click on the affiliate link if it was on a professional golfers site like Tiger Woods, but I probably wouldnt click on Joe golfers site. I think people will click on your affiliate links once you have built a relationship with them and they trust you. This trusting relationship takes a while to build up.
BTW I like your site Lots of good stuff here:)

Hi Jim, good points you have here. The relationship between bloggers and readers is really important. We won’t simply buy things from unknown or unfamiliar sites right.
P.S. Glad to hear that you like my blog. Recently I have no much time to update it, but come back to visit me always
I haven’t tried anything yet. but If I have to buy something I will definitely buy from affiliate link. by this way it will help the blogger also. What is wrong if blogger earns from the sell

At times I do buy from affiliate links when I think the product is worth paying for. And until now I think I have paid enuff for what I have received.
Well, we cant always keep our hands tied to buy from the original buyer and reduce the overall cost, as the returns are more than what we are going tospend now
