Knowing what not to do in a blog is just as important as knowing what to do. Here are the top 7 blogging mistakes to avoid:



#1 Not Using Self-hosted Blog:

The first mistake I made was to begin blogging using Blogger.com . However, I was realized 3 months later and upgraded my blog to a self-hosted Wordpress.



#2 Unoriginal Content:

Don’t just parrot what everybody else is talking about. Come up with something of your own to say. Make it interesting, and people will be interested.



#3 Irregular Posting:

The mantra of blogging is ‘consistent and frequent posting.’ Even if you don’t post daily, do create a routine for posting that you follow regularly.



#4 Neglecting Post Titles:

Both the headlines and content are important. If your title doesn’t catch readers’ attention, probably they won’t read the articles.



#5 Stop Linking To Others:

Well, there are still many blogs out there linking to others using anchor text “click here”. Don’t be selfish, spread the link love and your readers will enjoy it.



#6 Stop Commenting On Others’ Blogs:

Don’t be lazy, I know it’s time consuming. But this is the hard way to increase exposure and to build your name in the blogosphere.



#7 Too Many Ads:

While ads are crucial to monetizing your blog, make sure you don’t have too many ads. This can be distracting and will prevent viewers from getting the most out of your blog.
